About the Artist
About Me
My artwork reflects my love of impressionistic style and contemporary techniques. The mixed media process I use allows me to explore this space by adding texture and layers in my paintings using traditional brushes as well a variety of creative tools. I also create my own collage pieces to add dimension to my paintings.
Water and the natural world are often a theme of my art. I seek to express what a particular moment or place meant to me--whether it was rich and intense, or subtle and lingering. The colors I use in my artwork represent that experience, mood or memory I am trying to convey.
Even though I painted in oils at the age of 13, I didn't purse my art practice beyond high school. However, my professional marketing career allowed me stay involved in the creative aspects of visual communications. But the desire to return to painting and arts never subsided. A number of years ago I reignited my desire to create art by attending a painting workshop in Italy; and today, as a self-developed artist, I am delighted to be living in Sarasota where a thriving art community allows me to pursue my art studies and develop an art practice.
